Agate is a common rock formation made of chalcedony and quartz, along with many other trace minerals that will determine the color. Agates are typically volcanic rocks, and were often used in Ancient Greece for ornamentation and jewelry. Each specimen has a unique pattern, often exhibiting waves of different hues. Some pieces of agate will also have crystal drusy quartz, resulting in small clusters of tiny crystals giving the specimen a special sparkle. Agate is useful for bringing balance to the mind, body, and spirit, and aids with meditation by transforming negative energy into positive energy. It can assist with anxiety and anger, and helps calm and soothe the user. This particular piece has an opening that goes all the way through and is lined with drusy quartz. The gray color has almost a blue appearance, and is a beautiful display piece.
